Favourite thing about my current job:
My favourite thing about my job is the variety. I love that one day I’ll be managing some of the sickest patients in the hospital in HDU, and the next I’ll be trying to find alternatives to hospital admission using pathways in our ambulatory care unit. I’m also really enjoying being a FAMUS supervisor and helping to expand the point-of-care ultrasound service within our unit.
Most exciting thing training in AIM has allowed me to do:
Training in AIM has provided lots of exciting opportunities, but I think the biggest one would be getting involved in the Society for Acute Medicine. As a takeAIM fellow and then SAM trainee representative, I was able to get involved in a variety of activities, such as representing trainee issues to the SAC, helping to organise national conferences, joining a team developing a national guideline and speaking at the SAM Copenhagen conference. It’s opened up a lot of doors, as well as providing friends and colleagues across the UK, and I’m excited to see where that leads next!

Favourite thing about my current job:
My favourite thing about my current job is working alongside other wonderful members of the MDT in order to deliver care to a wide range of patients to ensure that we have a meaningful impact on their patient journey.
Most exciting thing training in AIM has allowed me to do:
A career in AIM has enabled me to not only enjoy clinical aspects of care but also allows me to develop other interests and valuable skills carrying out other roles such as in simulation based education. I believe that this positively contributes to my work-life balance and has helped to create a job which is sustainable for many years to come!

Favourite thing about my current job:
My favourite part about my job is the team! I love the diversity and different skills we all bring, and the fact that everyone is so approachable. We may all approach things differently, but we are always working together. Things can often be difficult but you never feel lonely in AIM! I also love working with our trainees to develop their ultrasound skills, and find the passion and enthusiasm in our resident doctors really rewarding.
